This for That

With Cinco de Mayo around the corner, today we had Chips and Salsa Day in our department at work.
While I had originally planned to skip on the festivities, I changed my mind after smelling the zesty aroma of all those homemade salsas. But rather than consuming my planned snacks for the day, I chose to skip them–a Zone Perfect bar and yogurt–in exchange for a plate of the goods.
I went with the chips that had the lowest fat content (5g per serving) and pretty much sampled all the homemade salsas since, well, they are pretty much just pureed vegetables with some spices added for flavor. You gotta like salsa–it’s a simple, tasty no-fat treat.
I definitely don’t feel guilty for partaking in the fun and I didn’t feel the need to eat the bar or cup of yogurt. In fact, the chips-and-salsa combo was the perfect cure for my grumbling afternoon stomach.
It’s a simple move like this that will not only keep you within your plan, but also reward you by indulging in what seems like something much more sinister

Hi! I’m not really sure how I got to your site but I’m enjoying reading your posts. A group of co-workers & I started Weight Watchers last week. I have about 50 lbs to lose and it feels so overwhelming! I’m encouraged by Weight Watchers’ plan showing that you can eat the food the rest of the world eats. Everything in moderation! You’re an inspiration & I plan to keep up on your progress. Glad to have found you!

Hi Steph and thanks for the kind words. I’m glad my story/progress has served as an inspiration for you!
I can’t stand being limited to what other weight loss programs dictate which is why the WW is definitely the plan for me. I’m glad to have been on it for a few years and to have kept the weight off. Moderation is the key to success!
While I won’t say 50 lbs. will be easy to lose, I know that it’s definitely possible. Just don’t be rushed into losing it; take your time and the rewards will be worth the effort. Remember that it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change, which means that you need to change your eating habits for life. If someone as lazy I me can lose over 90 lbs. then I know you can! Again, thanks for stopping by and your comments. Here’s hoping…um, knowing you and your co-workers will reach your collective weight loss goal
